What Exactly Changed in the 22 July 2026 Notice?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting AIAPGET-2026 for admission to Postgraduate AYUSH Courses for the Academic Session 2026-27. The Online Application Form was made live via a Public Notice dated 10 July 2026, and registration is ongoing, with the last date for submission fixed at 30 July 2026 up to 9:00 PM. Following the start of registration, NTA received a large number of representations from candidates requesting an extension of the prescribed Compulsory Rotatory Internship completion cutoff date. In pursuance of communications from the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), the internship completion cutoff date for determining eligibility to appear in AIAPGET-2026 has been revised from 31 August 2026 to 31 October 2026, for Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy. All other provisions, eligibility conditions, examination schedule and instructions contained in the Public Notice dated 10 July 2026 and the Information Bulletin for AIAPGET-2026 remain unchanged.
Applies to all AYUSH streams
This extension applies to all four AYUSH streams together -- Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy -- not just one.
Why Did NTA Extend the Internship Cutoff?
Many BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and BSMS candidates had internships scheduled to finish after 31 August, which would have made them ineligible to appear in AIAPGET 2026 despite qualifying on every other count. NCISM and NCH both wrote to NTA recommending the extension, and NTA accepted it for all four AYUSH streams together, rather than only for the specific stream that raised the concern.
What Should I Do Now If I'm Applying for AIAPGET 2026?
Confirm your internship completion date falls on or before 31 October 2026
If you have already submitted your AIAPGET 2026 application, no resubmission is needed for this change
Complete your Online Application Form before 30 July 2026, 9:00 PM, if you haven't applied yet
Use the correction window (1-2 August 2026, per NTA's information bulletin) if you need to fix any entry after submitting
Keep checking nta.ac.in and exams.nta.nic.in/aiapget for further updates
What Has NOT Changed?
The last date to apply is still 30 July 2026, 9:00 PM
The exam date remains as per NTA's information bulletin -- 22 August 2026
All other eligibility conditions (degree requirement, AYUSH Council registration, qualifying percentile) are unchanged
The Information Bulletin and Public Notice dated 10 July 2026 remain otherwise valid
