Every medical seat in India is filled through a specific counselling process. Understanding which route applies to you — and when — is the first step in your admission strategy.
All India Quota
Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)
15% of government MBBS/BDS seats (UG); 50% of government MD/MS seats (PG)
State Quota Counselling
State Directorate of Medical Education (DME) of each NE state
85% of government MBBS/BDS/BAMS seats in each NE state; 50% of government MD/MS seats
Management Quota
State counselling authority (a dedicated Management Quota round) for state-affiliated colleges
Typically 50% of seats in private medical and dental colleges
NRI Quota
State counselling authority (alongside Management Quota) in most states — e.g. KEA in Karnataka
Typically 15% of seats in private medical and dental colleges
AACCC — Ayush Admissions Central Counselling
Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC)
AIQ seats in government Ayush colleges nationally; all seats in central Ayush institutions
