How AACCC works

AACCC (Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee) is the central body that conducts counselling for undergraduate AYUSH programs — BAMS (Ayurveda), BUMS (Unani) and BHMS (Homeopathy) — in government Ayush colleges across India. AACCC is separate from MCC, which handles MBBS and BDS counselling.

AACCC operates in a similar manner to MCC AIQ counselling: students register, fill choices online, and are allotted seats based on NEET UG scores and category. AACCC covers the central quota seats in government Ayurvedic, Unani and Homeopathic medical colleges. State quota seats in these colleges are filled through separate state AYUSH counselling processes.

Eligibility

Valid NEET UG score meeting the minimum qualifying percentile for your category (50th percentile for General/EWS; 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC; 45th percentile for General-PWD).

Indian nationality. No domicile restriction for AIQ component — AACCC central counselling is open to students from any state.

For OBC category in AACCC central counselling, the central government OBC list applies (same as MCC AIQ). State-issued OBC certificates do not qualify for OBC benefit in AACCC central seats.

Step-by-step process

Typical timeline: AACCC counselling typically begins after NEET UG results are declared, running in parallel with MCC AIQ. The schedule is published on the official AACCC portal each year. AACCC counselling rounds follow a similar pattern to MCC: Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up round and finally Stray Vacancy.

  1. AACCC Registration

Register on the AACCC portal (aaccc.gov.in) during the registration window. Registration for AACCC typically opens after NEET UG results and in parallel with MCC AIQ UG counselling. Pay the registration fee and security deposit (amounts are specified in the AACCC information bulletin each year).

  2. Choice Filling

Fill choices from the available government Ayush colleges and programs (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS as applicable). AACCC typically covers government Ayurvedic colleges in all states. Fill choices in order of genuine preference. You can modify choices multiple times before locking — lock before the deadline.

  3. Seat Allotment

AACCC publishes seat allotment results on the portal. Based on your NEET rank, choices filled and seat availability, you receive an allotment. Options: accept and join (exit counselling), accept and upgrade (stay in for next round), or withdraw.

  4. Reporting to Allotted College

If allotted a seat and you choose to accept, report to the college within the reporting window with original documents. Document verification is conducted by the college. Non-reporting within the window forfeits the seat.

  5. State AYUSH Counselling (Parallel)

If participating in state AYUSH counselling as well (for state quota BAMS seats), register separately on the respective state AYUSH/DME portal. State and central counselling can be pursued simultaneously — you can only hold one seat ultimately.

NE India perspective

AACCC provides NE students access to government BAMS (and BUMS/BHMS) seats across India at NEET scores that are generally lower than the equivalent MBBS cutoffs. Assam government Ayurvedic colleges participate in AACCC for their central quota component.

For NE students with mid-range NEET scores who want a government-seat medical program, AACCC-eligible BAMS at Assam government Ayurvedic colleges is a meaningful option — combining the security of a government seat with proximity to home.
