NEET-UG 2026 Cut-offs at NE India Government Colleges: Realistic Targets

Knowing the approximate NEET rank and score needed to secure a seat at each NE government college helps you set a realistic target. Here are 2025 benchmarks and 2026 projections based on candidate volume and paper difficulty.

How MBBS Cut-offs Work

A cut-off is the NEET-UG rank of the last candidate allotted a seat in a given category at a given college. It is not set in advance — it emerges from actual candidate choices and allotments in each counselling round. Cut-offs differ between AIQ and state quota (lower rank required for state quota), between general and reserved categories, and can shift 5,000 to 30,000 ranks between years depending on the number of candidates and their score distribution.

Important disclaimer

The figures below are based on 2025 counselling data and 2026 projections. Official 2026 cut-offs will only be known after MCC counselling closes — and because NTA cancelled and re-conducted the May 2026 NEET-UG exam following a paper-leak controversy (re-exam held 21 June 2026, results expected ~20 July 2026), the entire 2026 counselling calendar has shifted later than the usual October close. Use these as benchmarks for target-setting, not as guarantees, and confirm the live schedule on mcc.nic.in.

State Quota Cut-off Ranges (2025 Ref / 2026 Estimate)

State quota cut-offs are typically 1.5× to 3× more relaxed in rank terms than AIQ cut-offs at the same college. Only domicile holders of the respective state compete for these seats.

NEET-UG 2026: Score-to-Rank Reference

Approximately 22.8 lakh candidates registered for NEET-UG 2026. Note that the originally scheduled 3 May 2026 exam was cancelled by NTA after a paper-leak controversy and re-conducted on 21 June 2026, so score-to-rank patterns from that re-exam may not track past years as closely as usual. The following table gives approximate rank bands based on historical trends:
