About GMCH
Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) is the oldest and most prominent government medical college in Assam and one of the leading medical institutions in North-East India. Established in 1960, GMCH is affiliated to SSUHS and recognised by NMC. It is the primary referral hospital for the entire NE region, with a large hospital capacity handling complex cases from across the eight NE states.
GMCH offers MBBS at the undergraduate level and MD/MS programs in multiple specialties at the postgraduate level. AIQ and state quota seats are filled through MCC and Assam DME counselling respectively.
