NTRUHS AP MBBS/BDS Convener Quota 2026-27: Document Checklist Before Applications Open

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, will shortly open online applications for MBBS and BDS admission under Competent Authority (Convener) Quota for 2026-27, and has released the full document checklist in advance.

By Kumar Amitabh

Who Is This Notice For?

NTRUHS's Convener Quota covers 85% of MBBS and BDS seats in its affiliated government and private colleges, filled by merit from NEET UG 2026 rank among AP-local candidates. The remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats are filled separately by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) -- a completely different process not covered by this notice.

Check eligibility before preparing documents

If you have no residential, educational, or family employment connection to Andhra Pradesh, this specific Convener Quota process is unlikely to apply to you. The notice does include a Non-Local Candidate provision for 15% of unreserved seats, but it still requires proof of an AP connection, not open eligibility for any NEET-qualified candidate nationally.

What Are the Mandatory Documents for NTRUHS Convener Quota 2026?

Five documents are marked mandatory, and every candidate must have these ready regardless of category. All documents must be scanned as PDF, kept ready, and uploaded soon after the university issues the formal admission notification.

  • NEET UG 2026 Score Card

  • Birth Certificate (SSC / Class 10 marks memo)

  • Qualifying Exam Certificate (Intermediate/10+2 marks memo -- grade certificates are not accepted)

  • Study Certificates from Class 6 to Class 10

  • Study Certificates for Intermediate or equivalent (both years)

What Category-Specific Documents Might I Need?

Depending on your situation, you may also need the following, if applicable to you.

  • Transfer Certificate (Intermediate/10+2)

  • Community Certificate (BC-A/B/C/D/E specifically -- OBC certificates are not accepted for state quota; SC candidates need Sub-Group-specific certificates as per G.O.Ms.No. 7)

  • Minority Certificate (Muslim candidates only)

  • Income and Asset Certificate for EWS, dated on or after 1 April 2026

  • Parental Income Certificate or White Ration Card (for fee reimbursement purposes only)

  • PwBD documents: UDID card and self-certified affidavit per Interim Guidelines dated 19 July 2025

  • NCC, CAP (Children of Armed Forces Personnel), Sports and Games, Police Martyr Children, Anglo-Indian, or Bharat Scouts and Guides certificates, if applicable

  • Aadhaar card, latest passport-size photo, and specimen signature -- mandatory for every candidate

How Do I Claim AP Non-Local Candidate Status for the 15% Unreserved Seats?

You must prove an AP connection even to claim Non-Local status -- this is not an all-India open quota. You need one of the following: a minimum 10 years' study certificate of the candidate or either parent studied in Andhra Pradesh, or minimum 10 years' residence proof in Andhra Pradesh of either parent, or a current employment certificate of either parent working in Andhra Pradesh. If you cannot produce any of these, you are not eligible under this specific provision.

What If I'm From North-East India With No AP Connection?

Your realistic route into an AP medical college is the 15% All India Quota, administered by MCC, not this NTRUHS Convener Quota notice. AIQ seat allotment is based purely on your NEET UG 2026 all-India rank, with no domicile requirement. Watch for MCC's own AIQ counselling schedule separately -- it runs on its own timeline, distinct from NTRUHS's state process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Has NTRUHS opened MBBS/BDS applications for 2026-27 yet?

No. As of this notice (21 July 2026), NTRUHS has only released the document checklist in advance. The formal counselling notification with the application link and schedule is expected shortly on drntr.uhsap.in.

Can a candidate from outside Andhra Pradesh apply for Convener Quota seats?

Only with a genuine AP connection -- 10 years' study or residence of the candidate or a parent in AP, or a parent's current AP employment. Without this, the Convener Quota does not apply to you; consider the 15% All India Quota via MCC instead.

Are OBC certificates accepted for AP state quota?

No. Only BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, or BC-E community certificates issued by Andhra Pradesh authorities are accepted. Central OBC certificates are not valid for AP state quota.

What happens if I submit a fabricated or altered document?

NTRUHS has explicitly warned that creating, submitting, or circulating a fabricated or digitally altered document is a cognizable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
