NRI / OCI relative documents
These prove the NRI/OCI status of your qualifying relative (parent, grandparent, or yourself if OCI).

Attestation and apostille requirements
- Documents from abroad (employment letters, bank statements, residence proof) should be attested by the Indian Embassy or Consulate in the country of residence.
- For OCI cards, a photocopy attested by a Gazetted Officer in India is acceptable at most colleges.
- All original documents must be produced at the time of admission. Photocopies alone are not accepted.
- Get at least 5 sets of certified copies of each document. Verification processes at different colleges may retain copies.
Preparation tips
• Start collecting documents from the NRI relative as soon as NEET results are out (June/July). Foreign employment documents can take 2–4 weeks to arrange.
• Keep originals in a secure file and make 10 sets of certified photocopies — you will need them at multiple stages.
• Ensure all documents are in English. If any document is in another language, get a certified English translation.
• Carry a separate envelope for each college you are applying to, with a complete set of copies ready.
